Starting in Huéneja town, after crossing the river we must take the trace that goes to the right into the mountains. Up to this point, the track runs through an area densely covered in chestnuts and oaks .

After walking on for about 2 km., we shall head southeastwards to link up with other track that goes along a spur towards the hill.

Then we shall take a track which leads to the Roble shelter where we shall turn south west to reach the Peñones del Mediodía, at this point a crossing to the left and eastwards leads to the Cerra del Almirez, easily identified by its double summit, 2,517 m. at its highest point.
