Almeria trekking Sierra Nevada - Ocaña

Sierra Nevada - Ocaña (12 h. aprox.)

We start going north out Ohanes and keep going north for the whole route. Taking first the Granada road, 1 km. farther, we shall encounter a track to our left which goes up to the north.

The track branches off, and we shall turn to the right to arrive at Tices Village, in a beautiful valley.

On the right side of the cliff there is a track running up to the Puerto de Santillana northwards.

There are excellent views of the whole suntrap of the Sierra Nevada. Beneath, there is a valley in which the village of Santillana is found and through which passes the avenue of the same name right up to the doors of Ocaña.

This route involves the obvious problems of a high mountain stretch so its better to do it in a couple of days.
