As is the case with the rest of the villages in the
Genal Valley, Jubrique stands on mountainous terrain,
its streets and houses adapted to the uneven land
on which they were built, thus creating the architectural
layout so typical of La Serrania de Ronda area.
History
As is the case with most of the villages in this area
of La Serrania de Ronda, Jubrique appeared as a result
of the existence of a farm in the area during the
Andalusi-Arabic period. Later, like its neighbours,
it was conquered by Christian armies.
In this days village is the result
of a growth in population in the 18th century.
