You will find this village in the centre of the Isla
Mayor Island of the River Guadalquivir. Among its
principal monuments are the church of nuestra señora
Del Carmen and the little English houses, which were
built upon the arrival of the English to this region.
A visit to these dwellings will let us learn about
the way of life of the first settlers in the tidal
marshes.
Two of the fiestas that attract the most attention
from travellers are the Rice and Crab Fair and Fiestas
in June and Crab day, in September. For five days
in the more than forty private booths, you can sample
numerous dishes due to the great wealth of products
of the region, but there will be no shortage of paella
or red crabs cooked in different ways.
Between plates, you will witness a magical horseback
parade with riders in traditional costumes, or entertaining
horse races.
