Las Cruces de mayo are situated in open spaces in
the streets of Lebrija and once night has fallen the
residents go from one cross to another, singing and
dancing through the streets imparting a double character
to the fiesta: the one that is celebrated at the cross
itself and the one that is observed on the way to
the cross, where everyone dances to the tune of Las
Corraleras, Such was the revelry and the beauty of
the crosses on every street corner that last year
this fiesta was declared of National Tourist Interest
in Andalusia .
Equally exciting are the wake for our lord jesus
Christ which is observed on good Friday in the courtyard
of los Naranjos, and the flamenco festival.
