In early September, Mairena de alcor exudes flamenco
a pure flamenco that every year attracts masses of
people of renders heart. Felt homage to one of the
greatest flamenco singers: Antonio Mairena.
During your visit you can tour the Luna Castle which
is well preserved thanks to the English archaeologist
George Bonsor, who used it as a dwelling.
Today it is the site of an important collection of
archaeological specimens. In the upper part of village
is the church of La Asunción, with valuable
paintings, sculptures and items of precious metals.
Don’t leave without taking a seat at the flamenco
song festival and treating yourself to a traditional
cuisine ruled by delicious Salmorejo sauce, rabbit
with almonds or picadillo with olive and orange.
