Santiponce

One of the richest heritages of Andalusia is concentrated in Santiponce, the roman city of Italica and the Cistercian monastery of San Isidro del Campo.

The city of Itálica was founded by Publius Cornelius Scipio. You will admire the Roman theatre, the hot springs of Termas Roman domus of Los Pajaros, Planetario and Exedra; and the marvellous Amphitheatre. Against this historic background the imposing Way of the cross of aljarafe is celebrated, which has been declared of National tourist Interest in Andalusia; the famous Itálica International Cross-Race and the European Festival of Greco Latino Theatre.
