Fuengirola Beaches

PLAYA DEL CASTILLO
The Playa del Castillo is one of the best in Fuengirola, it is situated in the shadow of the medieval fortress of Sohail, People come here to get away from the tourist onslaught that hits the area every summer. The absence of beachside buildings ensure long evening sunshine. This beach has been traditionally used for overnighters where people set up camp and stay until dawn.

SANTA AMALIA
It is a kilometre long, and has all the best services. It is situated a stroll away from Fuengirola where even record shops look onto the beach. It therefore fills up very often, despite it being narrow on one side it widens as you go west.

LOS BOLICHES
A blue flag holder for many years, the sands and waters are always clean, the showers and footbaths are fed by ramps for the disabled. This beach attracts a mixed crowd, and is always full of hustle and bustle.

LAS GAVIOTAS
The Golden sands and moderate swell ensures that this is one of the most visited of the area. Tourists especially flock here to enjoy the traditional cuisine and sun, sand and sea; it is two and half km in length and 60 metres in width.

TORREBLANCA
Few beaches in the area can claim to be this tranquil, it lies a fair bit away from the town. 1600 metres in length and 30 in width, its waters are rarely cold, its sands fine and golden. All danger areas are signposted which attracts the windsurfers and kayak enthusiasts. Weekends see the beach fill up with tourists but almost never to capacity.

CARVAJAL
Is one of the better beaches of Fuengirola, it avoids the summer overcrowding, the sands and waters are clean, the shower access is aided by wooden ramps. The playgrounds and Red Cross, attracts a lot of families, there are no sandbanks which allow for a gradual deepening.
