Jerez Towns to visit

Due to its great geographical location, half-way between the sea and the mountains, Jerez offers an outstanding number of options to tourists.

Sanlucar de Barrameda where the Manzanilla sherry comes from, and the protected National Park of Doñana are only at 22km from Jerez.
A visit to this old village is obliged. Sanlúcar de Barrameda is located on the Atlantic ocean coast and at the mouth of the river Guadalquivir which provides the wine cellars of this village with the necessary conditions to grow Manzanilla. If you have time do not miss to visit Bodegas Barbadillo , leader producer of manzanilla. Tel:+34 956 38 55 00
Manzanilla is a dry wine that belongs to the D.O.of Jerez but that only can be aged in Sanlúcar de Barrameda because of the special microclimate . Among the Manzanilla Sanlúcar is known for the "langostinos" (king prawns) which come from the mixed waters of the river Guadalquivir and the Atlantic Ocean.
So it is worth at least to go to have a glass of manzanilla to accompany the fresh langostinos or any other tapa , fish or seafood. You will be enchanted by the main square , where you will find many tapas bars with the best selection of seafood from the area.
We recommend you : Casa Balbino where you will find more than 300 different tapas and enjoy the really andalusian atmosphere and conviviality.
If you are already in Sanlúcar you must not miss to visit the Natural Park of Doñana across the river .There is a boat that cross the river everyday from Bajo de guía , the sea promenade of Sanlúcar where there is one of the best fish and seafood restaurant of Andalucia , "El Bigote" but you will have to reserve in advance if you want to go there as is always fully booked.

El Puerto de Santa Maria and its beaches are at just 12 minutes driving and it is also a wine producer town, where one of the most emblematic bodega of sherry is located, Osborne , which is owner of this famous black bulls that are on the whole geography of Spain.
El Puerto is famous summer resort mainly for Spanish tourism from Madrid and Seville is a very nice place where tapas , wines , seafood …is as important as in the rest of this region.

Cadiz, the capital of the province and the beautiful Atlantic Coastal Route are only 20 minutes away. Also named as "La tacita de plata" is a really beautiful city , its beaches , promenades and the town center are always busy with people , it is a very lively town . It is worth to go and visit this city , with it is wonderful cathedral and fortress that surrounding the old city .
There are also many places to "tapear" and restaurants but we recommend to visit El Faro restaurant , simply fantastic.
The beautiful white village of Arcos de la Frontera, known as the gateway to the route of the White Villages, is less than a half-hour drive away.
