In terms of its colourful old houses, some built into the rocks, the atmospheric La Chanca quarter near the Alcazaba is well worth a visit. Do take care though and leave your valuables in safe keeping at your hotel as some holidaymakers have encountered petty thieves there. Best avoided at night.
